Korean Martial Art
We are Kenilworth World Tang Soo Do Association, a friendly and welcoming martial arts club with members ranging from seven years to adults. We have a firm tradition of respect, discipline and perseverance where members can improve their fitness, learn new techniques, including self-defence and improve their coordination through regular training. In addition to our instructor Mr Marshall (1st dan black belt), there are five other black belts in the club with a wealth of experience and support for those working through the belt system. With gradings held every three months, there are regular opportunities to advance to the next belt and two championships each year for those wishing to compete. A Local World Organisation Kenilworth Tang Soo Do is not only a nine-year established club, but a part of a world-wide organisation with over 100,000 members in 38 countries. Region 11 of the worldwide organisation covers the UK and Europe overseen by the chief instructor Master M Khan (6th Dan), based in Cambridgeshire. The Coventry and Warwickshire area is overseen by Master John Bratchie (4th Dan) who teaches classes in Coventry and runs regular seminars for students throughout the area. There is a tremendous sense of support and encouragement within our club and we welcome beginners of all ages. Training Tuesdays 6.30pm to 8.00pm (Brown belts and above until 8.30pm) Sports Hall, Kenilworth School Leyes Lane, Kenilworth Warwickshire UK "I enjoy Tang
Soo for the art. I take pride in seeing the forms develop over time" "I love moving up the belts and
learning my new moves" "I think it's a great way to keep fit - much more interesting than the gym" "I took up Tang Soo Do after taking my daughter along and was bitten by the bug. I was completely unfit but after
a while my fitness levels improved. In 2007 I gained my first dan black belt at the age of 48 so it just shows that you can be old and
unfit but if you are determined you can succeed." Grading success Congratulations to Gareth Evans who was successful in his Black Belt test 8 October '11!!! He will be presented with his belt at the Presentation Class in January 2012 in front of all the UK Black Belts! Well done Gareth! A fantastic achievement! The following students were successful at the Coventry grading in December 2011 - Congratulations! James Appleyard - 2nd Gup Red Belt Sophia Warren - 4th Gup Brown Belt Will Slater - 4th Gup Brown belt Rosie Perry - 6th Gup Green Belt Harvey Wilson - 8th Gup Orange Belt
